Billie is going to take a few more days in Ukraine, so in spite of what I announced, he will be unable to be on the Monday night call on the 24th. However, you should login anyway and whenever you can as there is much to learn.
Hopefully, he will join us on the 31st. Thanks for your understanding.
Be sure to login to the regular AFA Monday night call on August 24th at 9:30 EST. Why? My friend, Billie from KY, has succeeded in obtaining a Visa for his fiancée! He has promised to tell us the story. We can all learn from his journey (including yours truly). The details to join the call are at the bottom of loveme.com.
Also, John Adams has prepared a great blog about Billie’s journey. Enjoy and learn. The lesson is that if you are a nice guy with the right values and intentions, it can happen for you! Get off the coach and go on a romance tour to the country of your choice. You will never be sorry.
Hey everyone – please help me accomplish something truly amazing for some very beautiful kids who have been placed in orphanages in Ukraine due to the war conflict there. There are also some very lovely young men and women who are in need of medical equipment such as fitted wheelchairs.
After numerous trips to orphanages in Ukraine in the past 4 years, I have decided to start a nonprofit organization called “One in The World.org.” This will serve the most severely needy and vulnerable kids in Ukraine, The Philippines and eventually, other countries. I have a very clear vision and clear objectives for this – I just need some help with getting it off the ground administratively. Your immediate donations will cover my next trip to Ukraine to film and photograph and enlist orphanages and similar institutions whose stories will be told (with appropriate measures for privacy, of course) in order to attract donations from folks who want to see a tangible and measurable impact when they donate to a charity.
If you can’t donate at this time – no worries – would you consider posting it to your Facebook in order to help me get the word out?
Thousands of orphans have been displaced by the war in Ukraine. Orphanages in Ukraine are minimally supported by government subsidies, most of which get siphoned away by corrupt officials. The children in pictures on my campaign drive are real kids we recently provided significant aid to when we (my traveling tourmates and I) visited Sumy, Ukraine last month. There’s much, much more to tell…
Short term objectives include shoes and clothing, medicines and hard to get items like fresh fruit and vegetables. One of the long-term objectives I want to provide, for example, – and this can easily be done where funds are available – is vocational training and housing costs to help teenage orphanage girls / graduates from joining the 60% of Ukraine girl orphanage graduates who end up on the street in some form of human trafficking.
Plenty of life-defining work to do. Website will be up and running soon.
I’m just asking for help in circulating this via FB… thanks for your support!
